  • Taking Your Time with Grief

Grief is a perfectly normal and natural part of human life.

It's an appropriate reaction to losing someone or something that was close to us and that we loved.

Grief can also be about more "abstract" things like grieving the change, loss, or letting go of certain parts of ourselves or our lives (for example, moving to a new place and grieving your old life, or, becoming a parent and grieving the loss of your free time, etc.).

There's no "best way" to process grief, because we're all different and we all grieve at our own pace. What takes me 3 months to grieve might not even be an issue for you, for example.

That's why it's important to create *time and space* for ourselves to grieve - instead of repressing, denying, or ignoring our grief. It was to run its course, it has to teach us what it is trying to teach us, and then once we've grieved enough, we're forever lighter and freer, with no unfinished business holding us back.
